Odie is that been there done that kid/grandma safe, stud who has been shown in Western Pleasure. He is being handled and road by kids along with experienced riders. Now, with that being said, the better the rider, the better he performs. Great ground manners and knows his manners. Loves to be brushed! Can be ridden by beginners in the arena or on trails. Yes even with odie being a pleasure horse he loves the trails! Rides even in a halter Bareback!
He can carry any size rider no problem.
He trail or arena rides, spur trained, will ride without also, Will walk jog and lope, backs up and has a great whoa. Yields, side passes, has a 3 beat canter etc. He has the buttons!
One hand broke neckreins or direct reins. Listens to leg and seat cues amazingly. His cues are sharper if you ride with spurs. He has been my personal mount for a while now when i want a laid-back ride. Can sit for months and ride off the same with a kid on him, no worries. Rides around mares and geldings fine. Drink a beer and relax approved. Has also been on moonlight trail rides! We have ridden him down busy roads past quads, cars, cows, trucks, tractors, through and over, logs, water, bushes, ditches, rocky footing, up mountain sides and through the creek bed! Leg him back up and show him again or use him for breeding; the last known crop of foals was in 2018 with 30 some babies on the ground! Odie is a fun stud to ride with his flashy color and super laid back personality. Everyone that sees or rides him is always surprised he is a stud with his manners.
Odie will NOT be sold to a first-time horse owner. Being he is safe for kids to handle, he is still a stud and not a first-time horse.
He is use to dogs, cats, minis, bunnies, donkeys, cows, mules, mares geldings and ponies. He will pasture with geldings, ponies, cows, donkeys and mares (to breed)
He pasture breeds or hand breeds and is easy to handle.
Will lead the pack out on a trail ride or will follow behind. Goes alone also! Odie does carry a brand on his right hip!
Super sweet puppy dog personality who loves his scratches
Stands to be brushed, tacked, farrier, and vet.
Odie is on pasture 24/7 currently with a run-in but stalls 100% fine also.
No crib. No buck. No rear. No bite. No bolt. No funny business.
He will weave back and forth when bored.
He does have a small cut on his left front leg from playing with his pasture mate but is healing and does not affect his performance.
Rides in a Bridle, halter, hack, or just a neck rope!
English, Western, or Bareback.
Shoes or barefoot. * currently barefoot and does have the typical wp feet *
UTD on coggins, worming, feet, and core shots
Vet checks/work welcomed at buyers' expense
